Those who support the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view use I Thessalonians 4:16-17 and Matthew 24:36 as justification. However, there are many flaws of this view, including within the verses themselves. The best view on the end times I can find from a study of the Scriptures is of a Post-Tribulation Rapture.
It is apparent from a study of Matthew 24, Mark 13 , and Luke 21 that Jesus is talking about two separate events, neither of which refers to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture event: the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Romans (fulfilled in 70 AD) and the Second Coming of Christ. The “this generation” referred to in Matthew 24:34 refers to the Church or Kingdom Age, which contradicts the view of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture, which states that the Church Age ends at the Rapture and is followed by seven years of Tribulation which precede the Second Coming. Thus, Matthew 24:36 must, based on the context of the passage, refer to the Second Coming of Christ. Jesus talking about some secret Rapture and coming again and then coming again openly seven years later would have confused them. Also, the trumpet in Matthew 24:31 is, I believe, the same one as in I Thessalonians 4:16 and the same one as in I Corinthians 15:51-52.
As it is clear that that this is talking about the Second Coming, the argument that nobody knows the day or hour of the coming must mean a Pre-Tribulation Rapture is disproven. There are clearly several signs which precede the Second Coming, so it did not mean it would come suddenly and without warning at all as it got near, at least for believers it would not be without warning as it drew near. It just meant that nobody at the time, not even Christ, knew it, only God the Father. The Apostles has asked Jesus in Acts 1:6 if He was then going to restore the kingdom to Israel, something that was foretold in the Old Testament, though not the way they had hoped as Jesus had said that Israel would fall and Jerusalem would be destroyed, but rather that He would come and reign as the King of Kings of the whole world as the prophesized last King in the line of David at the Second Coming. As to the timing of this, He said that it was not for them to know when God decided to do this (Acts 1:7). So, though there are clearly signs that precede the Second Coming, God is not going to tell us exactly when and expects us to watch, wait, and be faithful.
People mistakenly believe that the “wars and rumors of wars” and the “earthquakes in divers places” refers to signs before a coming Pre-Tribulation Rapture. However, while Matthew 24 and Mark 13 are a bit ambiguous as to what refers to the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple and what refers to the Second Coming, but Luke 21 makes it clear that those signs refer to the former, thus meaning that they have nothing to do with the end times at all. (Or at least I believe so. It is a bit ambiguous as to what refers to what, but the mentioning of being cast out of synagogues seems to point toward the first century AD rather than the twenty-first century AD or some later date. So could the other verses, which would refer to the upcoming persecution by their fellow Jews, who did not believe Jesus to be the Messiah. Also, the wars and rumors of wars could be warnings of possible trouble with Rome, which came to pass in 70 AD. I should point out that, while I disagree with the dispensationalist (Israel-centric and pre-tribulation Rapture views, I also reject the views of Preterism, which views the book of Revelation as John’s Olivet Discourse and that the book was an allegory for the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. I believe that the fall of Jerusalem and the Tribulation events are definitely two distinct time periods, much like how some prophecies of Isaiah happened within his lifetime or shortly thereafter but others happened hundreds of years later with the birth of Christ, that some of the events mentioned here in the Gospels would happen at or before 70 AD and others would happen before the Second Coming.)
Matthew 24:40-41 does not refer to people being taken in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture but actually to the wicked being seized by God and taken to Judgement. This is the “wrath” that I Thessalonians 5:9 refers to. Thus, the claim that the “wrath” referred to in that verse is the Tribulation and that God would therefore take the Church away in some secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture is thereby proven false. The reference to the “days of Noah” in Matthew 24:37-39 and Luke 17:26-27 and the “days of Lot” in Luke 17:28-30 clearly show how the wicked were caught off guard, just living their lives and paying no heed to God, were suddenly destroyed, by the Flood and the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah, respectively, while the righteous were saved. This clearly refers to the judgement poured upon the world at the Second Coming when the wicked are slaughtered. This could not refer to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture as this would leave about seven years before the destruction of the wicked, while the Scriptures clearly indicate that they happen at the same time. Also, a common thread of the days of Noah and the days of Lot are that the believers tried to warn them (Noah far better than Lot) of their doom but they didn’t listen. In both cases, the main person and his family were saved (well, technically Lot’s wife turned into a pillar of salt, but she didn’t die in Sodom.) They were whisked out right before destruction came. Noah quite a bit prepared (mature believer) whereas Lot almost literally had to be dragged off (lukewarm/weak believer). The destruction didn’t happen until the believers were safely out of the way but it came as soon as they were safe (Noah and his family shut inside the Ark by God and Lot and his family outside the immediate danger range of the cities. These analogies fit well with a post-tribulation rapture view but not a pre-tribulation rapture view.)
I Thessalonians 4 refers to the coming of the LORD and so does Matthew 24. Pre-tribulation rapture adherents, also called dispensationalists, agree that I Thessalonians 4 and I Corinthians 15 refer to the same event, the coming of Christ, as do I. However, unlike them, I believe that there is no indication in either of these books that this event is not the same one as in Matthew 24.
People also mistakenly believe that the “thief in the night” and “day of the Lord” phrase I Thessalonians 5:2 refer to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture event. However, the phrase “the day of the Lord” is used throughout the Old and New Testaments to refer to a time of coming judgement of God upon sinful people. This “day of the Lord” refers to the Second Coming of Christ. It comes suddenly upon the wicked, who are not prepared. The believers, are, of course, to prepare, or at least told to be watching and prepared.
In addition, from reading II Thessalonians 2:2, it would seem that somebody had written a fake letter, said to be from Paul, that stated that they were already in the Tribulation; Paul counters it, not by pointing out that he was still there and thus it could not be so, which argument one would expect to hear from him if the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view were correct, but instead states that there would come a great falling away and that the Man of Sin (the Beast, sometimes called the Antichrist) would be revealed that must precede the Second Coming. Furthermore, Jesus states in John 21:18-19 that Peter would be executed because of his stand for the Gospel. However, Peter was alive at the time of the writing of II Thessalonians, yet Paul did not state that it couldn’t be the Tribulation because Peter hadn’t died yet, as one would expect if the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view was correct.
Another thing to consider is that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view, with its interpretation of II Thessalonians 2:2, claims that there will be two resurrections of the just (one for those saved before the Rapture and one for those who were saved in the Tribulation and died) and one resurrection of the unjust. However, the book of Revelation refers to only one Resurrection of the just, in Revelation 20:4,6, and one resurrection of the unjust, in Revelation 20:5. John 5:29 and Acts 24:15 also refer to a single resurrection of the just. In John 11:24, Martha refers to Lazarus rising again in the resurrection of the just on the “last day”. However, given the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view, this could not be the “last day”, as there would be another resurrection seven years later.
There is also the mistaken belief that the Judgment Seat of Christ occurs during the seven-year Tribulation after believers are taken in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. This view treats the believers saved before this Pre-Tribulation Rapture like the favored children in fairytales while those left behind in this Pre-Tribulation Rapture that are saved during the Tribulation seem to be treated by God as the neglected stepchildren in fairytales. The first group get rewards from God but the second group are basically allowed into the Millennial Kingdom with no rewards, despite this view being clearly contradicted by Revelation 20:4, where they are clearly rewarded for defying the Beast and reign with Christ in the Millennial Kingdom. Furthermore, if one looks at the parable of the talents, one can see that the master’s return refers to the Second Coming and the rewarding of the faithful servants. Thus, the Bema Seat is clearly after the Second Coming and before the Millennium starts. Granted, this does not explain what positions of power those born in the Millennium will have, but I have not found any explanation of this from any proponents of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view either. I do believe that the rewards are only for those born before the Millennium, with one notable exception, which I will get back to later, not for those who were born during it. Rewards are for faithfulness while the Master was away, not for when He is present and ruling and the adversary, satan, is bound in a pit for 1000 years.
The Parable of the Tares in Matthew 13 also contradicts the Pre-Tribulation Rapture view. If this view were true, then it would be clear who was the wheat (believers) and who was the tares (unbelievers) after this Rapture as the wheat would be gone but the tares would be left. However, Matthew 13 describes the wheat and tares as being harvested together. Moreover, Matthew 13:39-40 quite clearly
States that the harvest is at the end of the world (i.e. the Second Coming, not the actual destruction of the world in II Peter 3:10 and Revelation 20:9-11).
Some also mistakenly attribute Revelation 3:10 as referring to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. However, this makes no sense as the Lord Jesus Christ should have sent it to all seven of the churches that they would be kept from this “hour of temptation” if that were so, not just the Church of Philadelphia. Moreover, that church existed in the first century AD and it is now the twenty-first century AD and still no Rapture or Second Coming for that matter, has arrived, thus it could not have been meant a Pre-Tribulation Rapture as they would have been long dead before it happened. I have also seen people claim that the seven churches are chronological sections of the Church Age, with the Church of Laodicea happening right before the Rapture. While I can greatly agree that the Church in the Western World bears a great resemblance to the Church of Laodicea, this argument also falls flat on its face in that the Church of Philadelphia, not the Church of Laodicea would have been the one to escape the “coming hour of testing”. Perhaps in this view, this section of the Church Age would pass away peacefully before the Tribulation came. That argument would bear some merit, as there is precedence in the Bible of the godly dying before judgement comes (Isaiah 57:1-2; II Kings 22:18-20 and II Chronicles 34:26-28). However, this still leaves the last phase of the Church Age, the Church of Laodicea, to go through the Tribulation.
Some argue that the “come up hither” in Revelation 4:1 is a reference to a Pre-Tribulation Rapture. However, it is clear from the passage that it was referring to John, not the Church of Christ.
Some also argue that the so-called absence of the Church after Revelation 3 indicates a Pre-Tribulation Rapture event. However, this is easily dispelled by the fact that the word “saints” is used both in the Old and New Testaments to refer to the righteous/saved and is so used in Revelation 5:8; Revelation 8:3-4; Revelation 11:18. Revelation 13:7,10; Revelation 14:12; Revelation 15:3; Revelation 16:6; Revelation 17:6; Revelation 18:24; Revelation 19:8; and Revelation 20:9. In addition, this line of logic that merely because the word “church” is not there must be proof that the Church was taken in some Pre-Tribulation Rapture event is as nonsensical as someone arguing that God Himself was some somehow removed from existence during the events of the books of Song of Solomon and Esther because of the lack of the word “God” in them.
For those who argue that the Rapture is Pre-tribulation and that the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and the Judgement Seat of Christ are during the 7 years of Tribulation, they cannot seem to explain why the marriage supper of Christ is mentioned in Revelation Chapter 19, the same chapter that mentions the Second Coming of Christ (which would back a Post-Tribulation view).
There is also an argument that the Post-Tribulation Rapture theory cannot be left, because if it were true, then there would be nobody left to populate the Millennium, citing I Corinthians 15:51-52, Matthew 23:30, Mark 12:25, Luke 20:34-35, and Revelation 20:7-9. For a while this had puzzled me as well until I found a possible explanation online that is very plausible. While in the Pre-Tribulation Rapture theory, the unborn and those before the age of accountability are raptured to Heaven along with believers, it is possible that in the actual Rapture that these are not Raptured to Heaven, having not made a decision for Christ, but also not slaughtered with the wicked (Jonah 4:11) and allowed to accept or reject Christ. As they would still thus have their old bodies, they could still marry and have children, thus allowing children to be born in the Millennium and some to rebel and choose satan at the end of the 1000 years.
Some also argue that the Tribulation is mainly meant for the salvation of the Jews and that this “time of Jacob’s trouble (Jeremiah 30:7) is when the 144,000 will be saved (Revelation 7:3-7) and that the Church will be taken in a Pre-Tribulation Rapture before this happens. People also misinterpret Daniel 9:27 to assume that during this time that the modern geopolitical nation of Israel will sign a treaty with the Beast/Antichrist for seven years, marking the seven-year Tribulation. However, this interpretation has several flaws, one very large. The “he” in Daniel 9:27 is actually the Lord Jesus Christ, not the Beast/Antichrist. This can clearly be deduced from Daniel 9:26, where it refers to the Messiah. The first three-and-a-half years of the last “week” of Daniel’s 70-week prophecy coincide with the three-and-a-half-year public earthly ministry of the Lord Jesus Christ. The sacrifices were cut off because, with His death and payment for sin, they were no longer needed. Also, He had said that the people running the Temple had made it a den of thieves (Matthew 21:13, Mark 11:17, and Luke 19:46) and it was clear that the religious leaders were corrupt. Israel had been rejected by Him (Matthew 21:19; Mark 11:13, 20-21; among others) and now the Gospel would go to the Samaritans and the Gentiles. The city would indeed be destroyed for its sins of rejecting the ministry of the Father (the prophets), the Son (the Messiah Himself), and the Holy Spirit (Stephen and those who came after him). The last three-and-a-half years of the seventy-week prophecy of Daniel ended with the stoning of Stephen and the scattering of the believers, minus the Apostles, from Jerusalem into Samaria and eventually to the Gentiles (Acts 8:1). The nation of Israel would indeed fall and not return fully until the Second Coming of Christ (Daniel 9:27 and Luke 21:24). Therefore, the seventy-week prophecy was sequential in full, without a nearly 2000-year gap between the first 69 “weeks” and the last “week” and there could be no treaty between Antichrist/Beast and true biblical Israel as a nation after 70AD anyway. Also, unlike many other versions, the KJV has “the covenant with many” not “a covenant” some, it’s clear that it’s a specific covenant, most likely between God and man (most of the Scriptural references to the phrase “the covenant” are referring to a covenant between God and man. I did some research and found that “the covenant” was actually the New Covenant (New Testament).
As concerning the “time of Jacob’s trouble”, by reading the rest of Jeremiah 30 in context, it can be seen that it was referring to the Babylonian captivity for most of the passage, including the “time of Jacob’s trouble”, though it did indeed also reference the eventual Millennial kingdom (Jeremiah 30:9).
The Tribulation will indeed be a time of trouble for the Jews, as well as believers, and even the unbelievers who take the Mark of the Beast and worship his image and worship the Dragon.
The Messiah will return to deliver those of every nation, tribe, and tongue who trust upon Him and to bring judgement upon the unbelievers at the end of the Tribulation. The believers will be taken out, like a procession to meet royalty (can’t recall the Greek word but that’s the word that was used for how the saints are called up at the Rapture), as the original words in I Thessalonians 4:16-17 describe it, and will return with Him. His return to save us and to bring judgment upon the wicked is the “blessed hope” of Titus 2:13, not some secret Pre-Tribulation Rapture that is hidden from the world and shown only to believe. All will see it and believers will rejoice at His return while the wicked will despair.

What are your hospital policies for covid positive employees?I’m in Ky working for a major hospital system. Vaccine is mandated. Nurses fired if no vax or exemption. Rule was if positive covid test quarantine for 10 days. When CDC changed that to 5, ours dropped to 5 also. Then it changed to: if you are not symptomatic, although positive, come to work with no quarantine. Now it is: even if positive if no fever, vomiting or diarrhea come to work!! We don’t have a covid unit or ICU at my facility so cov+ staff would not be only taking care of covid pts.

So now many workers who are paid by the CDPAP (Consumer Directed Personal Assistant Program) will have to get the jab soon. This is a state funded program that allows many to care for loved ones, many times at home, so that they may get the care they need. In the past family members had to chose between being able to take care of a loved one or going to work, leaving them to fend for themselves. Although the program is far from perfect it was providing valuable services to many throughout the state. And many times it is someone who already lives in the home. Why get the shot? Now this will no longer be an option for many who chose not to get an experimental drug, and the multitude of boosters we will see coming. Another great move by NYS and more casualties of the jab. And how many will end up having to go into more expensive institutionalized settings because they can’t get their care in a familiar setting. What are these people thinking?

self direct services through OPWDD are Medicaid funded. The Supreme Court decision allows any entity that uses Medicare or Medicaid dollars to force the vax regardless of the number of employees. My 9 year old said “ I HATE wearing a mask, it’s hard to breath in my classroom and even worse when I’m playing gym, if you even pull it down for 5 seconds to catch a breath the teachers yell at you and tell you you’re gonna get others sick, they don’t care about us that we can’t breath”
My 2nd grader is dealing with anxiety because of everything covid and I think it is playing a big part in her struggle with school. I question myself daily about homeschooling her.
Every day I think about homeschooling my kids and how much happier all three of us would be.

I feel for you! I’m a teacher. I went to the first day of work this school year masked up and ended up at urgent care at the end of the day with a pounding headache, racing heart, and nausea & indigestion, can’t go to work with C symptoms…It led to a 10 day quarantine and then a medical leave. Masking up all day paired with the burn out and anticipation of the school year literally made me anxious apparently. My paid sick time is out and I’m on unpaid leave now. To me it was a choose this day Who you serve thing. I could not step foot in that building and comply anymore with mandates and I couldn’t be that kind of example to my students. I always tell them to stand up for what they believe in and do what they think is right, I had to do the same. It has been hard! But God’s got me. He’s got you, He’s got all of us willing to take a step of faith and fight the good fight. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. I pulled my daughter from school because of the masking. She immediately was full of joy, free, and thriving. Homeschooling is very flexible and can work for any family. I am an RN too and lost my job due to the mandates. You can do it!! You can do tough things for your baby’s sake! ♥️♥️
It is so hard! My niece, who has been very pro-mask, seemed bothered by the fact that her 18 mo old daughter has to wear a mask at day care. She said inspectors frequently come in to check. But she says her daughter likes getting pretty new masks. This child has never known a time without masks. So sad! I think that if I had been masked as a child I would have internalized my feelings and gotten very depressed. I can’t believe more kids don’t have a hard time with it.
I totally understand the “I can’t do this!” In 2019, I had 3 high school students when the RE was repealed and 2 of my 3 were kicked out of school (one was 18 so could stay in school without the sh*ts). My husband collapsed two weeks later and ended up brain injured and spent a year in rehab. I have had a stroke, and was trying to manage everything. No one had a driver’s license (mine was revoked because of the stroke). No way I could homeschool! But then, 3 months later, God brought people into my life through the sale of a little red coat, and now I have a homeschool graduate and one still in high school. The co-op is the best thing that ever happened, and we didn’t even know it existed when we began this journey. So, I understand how scary this is and how impossible it seems. But your children need you to be their safety. Your gut knows what to do. That is your mama bear instinct.

PCR test picks up everything and is totally unreliable for determining what exact illness you have. It’s all so ridiculous. It could be the common cold!
When we have been told that our child cannot attend school due to quarantine, but can “test to stay”- we never opt to “test to stay”. They stay out of school for the 10 days. The school DOES report it. The county WILL call you. Do (or do NOT do) what you may with that. When the 10 days is up- they can go back. The county counts them as quarantined for that 10 days.

I have a growing concern, and it’s not just about the jab mandates, but the testing mandates. In addition to hearing that the tests themselves might be tainted with some bad from the elites, I’ve felt that having to endure these tests all the time is little more than rape. However, I fear that soon, policies might be put into place requiring people to upload proof of covid tests or submit them before even going to places like the library. it’ll be called “fair” as an “alternative” to testing and many won’t oppose it. And so I fear that those who oppose both will get shut out of society before the end of the year. I have a feeling that the test or vax mandate won’t stop with jobs but will soon spread to under 100 employees and even to government buildings, stores, libraries, etc. I believe that would be their plan. To get the DNA and force compliance and get those of us resisting the jab to go along with carrying some form of papers. I think if they tried to force everyone, they’d get stormed by angry mobs and removed from power. By doing it this way, they can still net us and divide the resistance movement, as many will think they got off by the requirement to test instead of jab. It’s also explaining why Biden and his goons are pushing for more tests, not finding ways to get rid of them with a possible upcoming test or jab mandate from SCOTUS.
It’s so obvious. They want us to get used to wearing a mask, even if it’s only to enter a place, they want us to get used to carrying a vaccine or negative covid test thing in order to get in. I literally had this same problem after my first moderna. 2 doctors said it was likely vaccine related. However, cardiologist said no way. Pcp wouldnt write exemption becasue she said the rules were too strict and it could have been unrelated. So even with a reaction-no exemption and drs are refusing to correlate it. Ended up with covid in between shots and now have to have another the day after isolation in order to go back to work. Scared to death what reaction may happen this time. It took around 2 weeks for activity tolerance to return and hr back to my baseline 50s

My husband is about to be fired after 25 years of military service, with a perfect record, dozens of medals, commendations, and another 15 years left on his contract! The type of release they’re doing carries the stigma of a dishonourable discharge and bars him from ever holding a government job. A spotless career, thrown out like garbage. I’m furious at this betrayal. He gave his entire life to the service starting at age 12 with cadets and straight in after high school and now they’ve spit in his face. Like the honourable and distinguished soldier he is, I’m so very proud of him for being a man of integrity, and a defender of the oath he swore to the Queen and her people.
My hubby served 6 years as a star recruit in the Navy, worked over 10 years a chemist at the state health department, and is now being pushed to resign from his job of 18 years wherein he’s served as radiation safety officer but now he’s a “threat” to others. If they don’t have the courage to fire him outright we don’t get unemployment or anything more than a month of severance, after 18 years of working unpaid overtime every week.
My husband is in the same boat. 26 years in the Oregon National Guard. He will be forced to retire much earlier than planned AND he loses his federal tech job. He put in a religious exemption but so far none have been approved. It is maddening. We are trusting in the sovereignty of our Lord and know that he will provide for our family in other ways. We have no contingency plan but to trust in the Lord. Like you, I am so proud of my husband for his integrity in standing firm even though people are looking at us like we’re crazy. The military is losing a lot of really seasoned vets, but that’s was likely the plan all along. The military is not the same as it was 26 years ago when my husband joined. indeed. The Canadian Armed Forces are ridiculously politically correct now. The only thing we want, and will fight for is his contract buy out and a change of release type, from a 5F to 5D (which basically says they can’t find a place for him). Legally when they release him with time on his contract, they have to pay out his salary for all the years he still has left, 1.2 million plus all the other perks, benefits etc. They did the same thing in the 90’s when the liberals decided the army was too big and downsized. We’re not asking for anything except what is legally due us. The good news is that he still has access to the educational funds, enough for a 4 year degree if he wants to do that, and his pension and benefits. They really are losing some highly specialized vets.

I 💯 believe that the reason that we are in this position now is because of the National Childhood Vaccine Injury Act of 1986 and for the last 30 years we have let vaccines be a qualifier for school and work. You can still get it and pass it even if you are vaccinated so how do we know it’s not the vaccinated giving it to everyone because they don’t have to wear the mask and think they are safe from this virus. I received a text from my company saying we will not be dispatched unless we get fully vaccinated so I’m out of a job now. I have no clue how I’m going to support my family.
My son was let go last week. He and his wife and kids are moving to Texas to live with us until he can get a good job here.
